The Casino funds pay for bussing for field trips and sports, sporting equipment, musical instruments, Mathletics, and many other school needs.

If we do not have enough volunteers we will have to forfeit our position and lose this funding, which will impact what can happen next year, and what fees we will need to increase for families.

Our students will benefit greatly from this, and we deeply appreciate your help. ​

It’s been a great nine years working in Bashaw. I’ve had the privilege of working with some

amazing staff and community members. I will never forget the experiences I’ve had working in

Bashaw.

It’s tough saying goodbye, but I look forward to the new opportunities that I will encounter. I’m

ready to start this new stage of my career. I will be joining the team at William E Hay Secondary School in Stettler and will be teaching Carpentry.

Just because I’m leaving the school doesn't mean I’m leaving the community. I look forward to

staying connected and hearing updates.

We are very excited to share that Haley Dennis, a former Bashaw School student, received a major award at ULethbridge’s Spring 2023 Convocation. Haley was awarded the School of Graduate Studies Medal of Merit, Master of Science. Haley earned her Master of Science, with a major in kinesiology.

Haley Dennis examined the growing understanding of the negative health impacts of excessive leisure sedentary time. Her thesis, Sedentary Behaviour and Health Risk: Is Excessive Screen Time the Real Culprit, confirms previous speculation that screen time may be more detrimental to health than total sedentary time, which includes occupational sitting time. Importantly, she has developed a new measurement approach for assessing sedentary behaviour that is poised to make a significant impact on the field.

We want to wish Haley the best from all staff and Students at Bashaw School.

The final School Council Meeting of the year will be held on Monday, June 19 from 4:30 - 5:30.

You are welcome in person. As well, the link will be sent on Monday to join virtually.

Our precious Kindergarteners will celebrate their graduation on Tuesday, June 20 at 6:30 at the United Church. What a FUN celebration this will be for their families! Congratulations to each of them, as they get Ready to Shine!

Thank you Mr. Vikse for all of your hard work organizing the Elementary track and field day.

Thank you to all staff who supported the day by bringing tents and supervising.

Thank you to Mrs. Johnson who was a good sport for the pie in the face!! It was a hot day, but so many kids were smiling and having a great time!

We are looking to add to our team and grow someone into the position through the Alberta Industry Training Apprenticeship Program.
