Hatherly Happenings
June 3, 2022
From Mrs. Ward
Soon we will be gathering once again to celebrate our fifth graders before they head off to middle school. Students in fifth grade have been encouraged to volunteer to take on a speaking role within the program. The program will be on the morning of June 23rd at 9:30. PTO will be welcoming audience members at 9:00 with coffee and conversation. The program will take place outside on the blacktop. Each year families create posters for their student to display during the end of the year. This year families will come together on the evening of June 14th to work on the posters together.
On June 21st we will be returning to the fan favorite, Field Day. If anyone is interested and available, families are welcome to volunteer to help throughout the day. This is definitely a time when more is merrier.
This morning we had the fabulous opportunity to meet our new kindergarten students. Students and their families had the chance to meet with staff and learn about their new school. We are excited to have them join us on September 8th.
As we begin to close out the year, please remember I am here to help in any way I can. If you have questions about upcoming events or specifics concerning your student, please do not hesitate to reach out the school.

Book Fair Week!
Summer Book Swap
Bring in 1 or 2 new or “almost new” books to the Family Night at the Book Fair on Tuesday, June 7th from 5:30-7:00. You will also have the opportunity to purchase a book to donate at the Book Fair. Books can be sent in to school during the week of June 13th-17th. Books need to be appropriate for K-5 students and in good condition.
On June 24th, students will be able to go to the book swap and take home a free book to read over the summer! Depending on the amount of donations, we may be able to send children home with more than 1 book.
Enjoy reading your book this summer! If you finish your book and would like another, return your book to Hatherly School and pick a new book at our book exchange on July 12th from 9am to 11am!
