East Hill School will be participating in Unity Day again this year, It will be held on Wednesday, October 20! Show that you care about safe and supportive schools and communities, by wearing the color orange on October 20! We will look to send a message of support, hope and unity and show that we are UNITED for KINDNESS, ACCEPTANCE and INCLUSION by sending an orange message!

Like many events in our lives, the health and safety restrictions of COVID-19 will change the activities this October. We will not be able to have classroom volunteers nor will children wear costumes. However, we have planned some fun fall activities for the last week in October. The East Hill Pumpkin Walk is sponsored by PTA and will be a family fun activity on October 28. Our PTA is providing a fall themed craft and snack for all classrooms on Friday, October 29. Students are welcome to wear costumes to our evening event.

Wednesday, October 27 - Wacky Wednesday- Wacky Hair or Wacky Hat Day

Thursday, October 28 - Favorite Sports Team/Favorite Character Day

Thursday evening October 28- East Hill Pumpkin Walk

Friday, October 29 - Halloween/Fall Themed Attire (no costumes)

Please join us for the first annual pumpkin walk on Thursday, October 28 from 5:30-8:30 p.m.. Pumpkins will be illuminating the school walkways for a family fun night out! Please park on either Blackmore Rd. or Parsons Rd. to limit traffic at the school.

The PTA’s Pick A Reading Partner (PARP) program is underway! Please find some time to read each night. Your child can read any materials you have at home independently or together. Log the reading for a chance to win a prize! Keep an eye out in your student’s backpack for the tracking log this week!

We’re excited about our Scholastic Book Fair. Hosted by our East Hill PTA this event is an opportunity for students of all ages to build their home libraries and further their love of reading. The EH Book Fair, is taking place October 19-20 at East Hill during school hours. All classes will visit the book fair.

Mark your calendar for the Special Referendum Community Forum to be held on Monday, November 15 and also save the date for the vote on the referendum which will be held on Monday, December 6.
