Message from Dr. Tim Hanson - Superintendent of Schools for MSD Warren Township
March 10, 2021
Good afternoon Warren Students, Families, and Staff, this is Dr. Tim Hanson, Superintendent of Schools for MSD Warren Township with a few important updates.
I am really proud of our 3rd grade students and teachers with their efforts this week in taking the state mandated IREAD3 assessments. I also want to give a shoutout to our students, teachers, and other staff who have been a part of completing our WIDA and CogAT testing. Keep up the great work!
Registration for 9-12 summer school opened this week. The link for registration can be found here and in the Warren Central High School Newsletter. 1st through 8th grade summer school registration will be shared later this month.
Last fall we asked our parents and caregivers to complete a survey to provide a baseline of our work within our Invest in Warren Strategic Plan. Starting Monday, March 15th, we will be asking our parents and caregivers to complete a follow up survey. These results will provide us with data and information to measure our success and identify areas for improvement. Links to the survey will be shared through each school’s newsletter.
As you may recall, when we delayed the start of the 20-21 school year due to COVID, we had to shorten our Spring Break from two weeks to one. Spring Break is scheduled for March 29th - April 2nd. School will resume on Monday, April 5th.
Just a reminder that our food distributions are on Tuesdays from 8:00 - 9:30 AM and 4:00 - 6:00 PM at Moorhead Community Resource Center. If you have needs beyond what is being offered, you can call our outreach hotline at 317-608-0545 or email at MSDWarrenOutreach@warren.k12.in.us with your request.
Have a great rest of your week and thank you for your continued investment in Warren students and schools.
Message from Mr. Rich Shepler - Principal
Good evening, this is Rich Shepler, principal of Warren Central High School. It is this time of year that we focus on finishing strong and planning for the year to come. Our counseling team is working hard to schedule all hybrid and fully virtual students for the 2021-22 school year. Please be sure to fully complete all scheduling information for next year and reach out to your school counselor if you have questions.
The 2021 Summer School session will be held from June 7th-June 30th and will be offered at no cost to current Warren Central students. Online registration has begun. Please be sure to sign up with a Warren Central student email account. Additional information has been sent to students and families and can be accessed Here . Summer school is a great opportunity to recover credits and work ahead in certain classes. Be sure to carefully review all information about this year’s summer school opportunities.

This week marked the one year anniversary of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on our educational process and life in general. While we see progress being made, we also know that times are still tough and many of us are continuing to face challenges every day. I cannot emphasize enough that we are here to help. Please reach out to school personnel if you are in need of assistance. It will take us all to overcome this and we are here to support you.
Thank you and have a good evening.
