Meadow Hall - March Madness
Just a reminder that we have 8 more school days to complete your March Madness boards!
As a reminder, the rules are:
Practice your Equity skills this month! Check off each activity you do with your students, add the date, and post a picture to Dojo! Turn it in by March 30th for a chance to win prizes. Complete a minimum of 12 boxes to be eligible with Dojo evidence of 4.
Please make sure that boards are turned in to Jennifer by 9am on March 30 so that we can announce prizes later that day. Please make sure to note which activities you posted to Dojo.
We’ve seen some great entries already!
Good luck!
Eureka
Resources for Topic Quizzes (SHARE WITH TEACHERS)
Topic quizzes are a popular tool for gathering formative data about student learning. Teachers can create a formative assessment with questions from:
- Concept development problems that have not been used in instruction
- Problem set problems that have not been used in instruction
- Homework problems that have not been assigned
- Remember that all problems in the Eureka Math materials are at grade level, however, they do increase in complexity. Often the unused problems are the final and most complex. Since tasks in the Eureka materials increase in complexity, teacher-built formative assessments should include questions with a range of complexity.
However, the following Topic Quiz DON’Ts may need to be reiterated:
- Do not download from TPT
- Do not download from Embarc
- Do not make up problems and quizzes
When assessing the students, it’s essential to stay aligned to the standard and within the grade level learning. Unvetted external sites are not valid and reliable tools to be used in classrooms. Refer to the 2022-23 Elementary Grading and Reporting Resources for further information.
