PACK Guardians,

We have wrapped up middle of the year iReady diagnostics and have seen some great student results! Our goal is student GROWTH. Not every student starts at the same spot and won't end at the same spot, but they can all GROW in their ability level. Please read the updates below:

Cheer Tryouts! - More detailed information will be coming out soon regarding the exact process for cheer tryouts. However, for planning purposes, these will be conducted the week before spring break. Next week we should have solidified dates, times, and digital information.

Teacher of the Year - On Monday our PACK staff will be voting for this year's TEACHER OF THE YEAR! The nomination committee has met and THE Rachel Canfield, Jody Cowart, and David Havard are on the ballot. Please click the links or continue scrolling to learn more about these wonderful teachers.

Dress Code - We have seen a rise in students trying to wear slippers. Espeeeeeecially Ugg Tasman Slippers! Don't be surprised if you get a call from an administrator to bring your child shoes when they are wearing slippers to school.

Hubbard PTA spirit gear - Keep scrolling to see a pic of what is for sale on the PTA website. We will be kicking off some Hubbard Spirit Gear days in the near future so get yours now!

EARBUDS - Students need WIRED headphones for their chromebook usage, not bluetooth earbuds. When students are using earbuds we don't know what they are connected to and what they are listening to. When we can physically see the wire going to their chromebook, we KNOW what they are doing. Thank you for understanding this.

On Fridays at 7:45a.m. in the Media Center we have Bible study led by Coach Adams, Meghan Orlowski, and Jonathan Cox. We have had some great turnouts!

Earlier this week the Legacy Southern Belles came to visit our 7th/8th grade dance classes to recruit for next year. Thank you to Rachel Bumgardner at Legacy for volunteering to come over!

This week, our Husky 6th graders learned about the Earth's mantle by using fruit in their science class!

Earlier this month, 6th grader Addison Ables entered the Tyler ISD science fair and represented the Hubbard science PACK!

This past week, your students have been taking their iReady middle of the year assessment in their MATH classes. This upcoming week our teachers will be looking at the data for their students, including growth, and using that data to drive their classroom instruction.

A huge shoutout to a couple special PACK parents who are also Tyler ISD board members. Mr. Washmon and Mrs. Harrison, we appreciate how you advocate for public education!

How do you know we have people that support our PACK students and public education? They donate their time and MONEY to help us out. This week we received a donation of coats, backpacks, and school supplies to help meet the needs of our students. We also had a private donor write a check to help us purchase additional supplies as needed. If your student is in need and you are in need of assistance PLEASE reach out to our awesome counselors via their email below!

You may have heard about i-Ready and Edugence from your student, but do you know what it is and how to access it? Join my at Torchy's between 4:30 and 5:30 on Wednesday to get an informational handout about what these programs are and how we use them!

Our 6th grade girls have an amazing opportunity to attend the annual Girl Power Summit, hosted by the Junior League of Tyler, on Saturday, January 27th.

The party bus will leave Hubbard Middle School at 8 am!!!

This event will fill up quickly, so get your signed permission slip returned to Mrs. Fancher or Mrs. Norris ASAP!!!
