A note from Mrs. Stewart
Positivity Project (P2)
Prudence & Perseverance
Being prudent requires us to set goals and plan to achieve them. Prudent individuals behave in the short term in responsible ways to have a successful outcome in the long term. Part of having prudence as a strong character trait means that you understand the idea that you plan to fail, if you fail to plan.
Perseverance, sticking to something that's hard and working through it to feel that amazing sense of accomplishment is so important when you're learning something new. When you're a kid, that happens a lot, and it's tough work to keep on trying. This is especially true when learning the new thing you are trying to learn doesn't seem to come easily to you.
You can click the links above to read about what your children are learning about in class as we try to grow and develop positive character traits.
OE Student Council Cares
Penny Wars
Mrs. Luchow and the 5th grade student council will accept persuasive essays and letters from classes who have ideas on how to best use the money to positively impact our school community. Students and groups of students who have ideas to submit need to have their writing turned in by January 31st.

Career Day ~ The second annual Brandon Career Day for elementary students will be the morning of June 5th. If you or someone you know would like to be a part of this day of learning, use this link to register as a presenter. This day is not possible without volunteers to share their careers with our kids.
Attendance and Transportation Reminder ~ Please include the office staff when notifying a teacher that your child will be absent or has a change in their transportation routine. For attendance purposes it is beneficial to have the correct attendance code on file and for transportation purposes it ensures that your child will get to the proper location safely. Also, if there is a change in the pick up routine for your child, it really helps the office staff if you call by 3:00 p.m. Calling later than that makes it difficult to get the change communicated. You can email Mrs. Halula at jhalula@brandon.k12.mi.us or call the front office at 248-627-1880 before 3 pm daily. Our attendance line is open 24 hours a day 248-627-1889.
