RADCLIFFE REMINDERS
HOME SCHOOL C.O.R.E. CONNECTION
The connection between school and home is one of the most important pieces of your child's growing years. At Brookview, we align all our expectations and rules to C.O.R.E., Civility, Order, Respect, and Excellence. For example, Respect- we are silent in the hallways to allow other students to learn.
When school and home are able to use common language like CORE, it can be incredibly powerful. I encourage you to look at your household/family rules to see how you can relate them to each area: Civility, Order, Respect and Excellence. For example: At our house we show Civility by: using kind words to brothers and sisters.
Setting kids up to be successful at home and at school will benefit them and you!
Here is a link for you to create your own Family CORE Chart.
Thank you,
Mr. Radcliffe, Dean of Students

BREAKFAST FOR STUDENTS
LOST AND FOUND
We currently have many personal items in the Lost and Found bins located in the school cafeteria. Please check with your child and if they are missing any clothing, jackets, lunchboxes, or other personal items, please have them check our bins.
OUTSIDE RECESS
As the weather is turning colder, please keep in mind that your child is still expected to go outside for recess. Students have a 30 minute recess each day. Every student will go outside unless there are unforeseen circumstances. Our district temperature threshold is 20 degrees for going outside with the wind chill also being taken into consideration. In other words, if the temperature is 25 but the wind chill falls below 20 degrees, students would remain indoors for recess. Recess is good for students socially and physically, however there may be times where students are not feeling well. If a parent requests that their child remain indoors, they can write a letter with that request for up to 2 days. If it is longer than 2 days, a note from a doctor will be required to keep the student in from recess. Please ensure that your child is prepared to enjoy their recess by dressing them appropriately for the colder temperatures.
HEALTHY CELEBRATIONS
While we love to celebrate, please remember that there is a
“No birthday treats" district policy. To access fun and helpful resources for healthy celebration ideas please visit the district wellness policy by clicking on this link.
