Centennial Remote Learning
May 4 - 8, 2020
From the Principal
Dear Centennial Families,
This week we want to celebrate our SUPERTEACHERS! During this time of remote learning the staff at Centennial have been working diligently to provide our students with the continuity of learning and connection to their teachers and classmates. I am so proud and grateful for the true grit and determination of our teachers and staff in spite of mounting challenges. I have seen our teachers innovate and collaborate in ways that I couldn't have imagined. For this, I am truly thankful and blessed to work with the best staff in PISD.
I think that I speak for most when I say, never has the power of a teacher in the life of a child been more evident or powerful. While we are doing okay during this time of remote learning, there is really no replacement for what happens between teachers and students in a classroom in the presence of great instruction.
This week, I encourage us all to tell the staff members of Centennial just how much we appreciate them. Take time to send an email to a staff member letting them know the difference they have made in your family's life or the life of your child. Have your child draw them a picture, write a letter or send a video. I can tell you that these notes, emails and words of encouragement will be something that the staff will cherish for years to come.
Just like every other event happening in May, we've adjusted the activities of teacher appreciation to meet current guidelines. This week we've created a "Teacher Appreciation Week" Facebook event page. In addition to sending personal emails, you can also post shout outs to staff, videos, pictures and notes on the page. Our PTA is also sponsoring some surprises for our teachers throughout the week. Check our FB page throughout the week to see photos of staff and learn more about these surprises.
Linked below are our staffs' favorite things for your reference.
Stay safe and take great care,
Sincerely,
Mrs.Stewart
Principal
