What a fun week we had celebrating diversity! We enjoyed our special themed days and sharing our similarities and differences with each other. Some of our 5th graders did a presentation for us called "The Beauty of Us All", which focused on our individuality. Just like snowflakes, stars in the sky, Autumn leaves, and clouds, we are all created with unique skills, passions, and characteristics. Together we make our world a special place!

Please have your child look at the lost and found table. We are donating the items at the end of February so PLEASE make sure to check it out!

Children entering Kindergarten must be five (5) years old by August 31, 2024.

Winter Wellness Tips:

As the winter season brings colder temperatures, it's crucial to prioritize your well-being. Here are some tips to stay healthy during the winter:

• Dress warmly in layers

• Stay hydrated

• Practice good hand hygiene

• Get plenty of rest

It’s essential to be proactive in preventing the spread of colds and the flu. Encourage your child to wash their hands regularly, cover their mouth and nose when sneezing or coughing, and remind them of the importance of using tissues.

If you have any concerns about your child's health, or illnesses that may occur during the school year, please notify the school nurse at 781-319-3985.

If your child had any of the following symptoms today, please keep them home

• Fever over 100 degrees (must be fever free for 24 hours without the use of tylenol or motrin to return to school)

• Vomiting and/or diarrhea (if your child has had any vomiting or diarrhea within the past 24 hours, they should not return to school)

• Diagnosis of communicable disease such as strep throat or conjunctivitis (if diagnosed with a communicable disease and prescribed antibiotics, your child must not return to school until they have been on antibiotics for at least 24 hours

Remember, a healthy child is a happy and successful learner.

Raise your hand if your kids love Annie’s macaroni and cheese! Now raise your hand if you have the Box Tops for Education app in your phone! NO!?!? It’s the easiest way to get “free” money donated to the PTO! Just scan your receipt to get donations on favorite products like Annie’s, Old El Paso, Cheerios, Lysol, and so, SO many more! Don’t forget the pup! Blue Buffalo is also on the list! These little donations add up to great programs for our kids and community!

The offices of President, Vice President, and Secretary will be opening at the end of this school year.

This week in the library we read "The Word Collector" by Peter Reynolds. This inspiring story helped enrich our discussions about the power of words. We also reviewed general library concepts and terms by playing library bingo.

February Vacation fun! Join us on February 22 at 2 pm, Learn to draw cartoon animals in this live in person program with award winning cartoonist Rick Stromoski. Kids will learn how to draw a variety of our furry, hooved, and feathered friends in this fun, interactive, and popular program for children ages 6-12 and their caregivers. Registration is required! Space is limited, so we ask that each child only bring one caregiver with them.
