Lopatcong Elementary School News

Please remember the back doors to the building open at 7:40am. Please make sure you wait until 7:40am to drop students off. Students who are waiting outside the back doors prior to 7:40am should be supervised by a parent until a staff member opens the door at 7:40am.

We do have before school care available beginning at 6:40am. Please click here for more information on our Before Care Program.

The Fall Parties are being held on Monday, October 31, 2016 at the Elementary School for students in Preschool through fourth grade. Please read follow the guidelines below regarding costumes:

• For students in grades one through four, please send your child to school on Monday, October 31st with their costume in a bag with his or her name on it. Please have your child dressed in such a way that they can either add costume pieces to what they are already wearing or can put his or her costume on over the top of his or her clothing. There is a limited amount of time for students to get dressed for the party.
• Preschool and Kindergarten students may wear their costumes to school on Monday, October 31st.
• There are absolutely no weapons of any kind permitted in the school, even if they are fake/pretend and/or constructed of foam or rubber.
• If your child's costume includes a mask, make sure that he or she can see clearly out of the mask so there are no problems walking during the parade. For safety reasons, bus riders will need to remove any masks prior to getting on the bus.
• Please check the length of your child's costume so there are no problems walking in the costume or getting on or off the bus if they are a bus rider.

If you are a Parent PTA Party Volunteer:

• Please make sure you have turned in your volunteer paperwork and PAID YOUR PTA DUES for the year.
• Please DO NOT park in the front of the building. These spots are reserved for preschool and bus dismissal.
• If you are taking your child home with you, please sign them out in your child's classroom.

The Fall Parade will be held on Monday, October 31, 2016, in conjunction with the Fall Parties. Please read the following information regarding the parade:

• AM Preschool and Kindergarten parade will begin at 9:50am
• PM Preschool, PM Kindergarten, and Grades 1-4 will parade at 1:40pm
  
• The parades will take place in the back parking lot of the school. Parents are invited to attend.
• PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN THE BACK PARKING LOT. You will need to park at the firehouse or along the driveway.
• Please congregate in the middle of the parking lot or on the grass around the parking lot so children have a space to parade.
• In the event of inclement weather, the parade will be cancelled. THINK SUNSHINE!!!!!!
• When the parade has concluded and all students are safely in the building, parents may move their cars into the lot in preparation for dismissal.

Thank you for your cooperation in making this a safe and fun event for our children.

There will be NO SCHOOL on Thursday, November 10th and Friday, November 11th.

We will be holding a mock election on Tuesday, November 8th. Students will be voting on a t-shirt design for the Field Day T-Shirt that will be sold in the coming months. If your child would like to submit an entry, please see the information below.

Parent-Teacher Conferences are a wonderful opportunity for you to meet with your child's teacher to learn about their program and progress. Please use the parent portal on Genesis to schedule your parent teacher conference for students in Preschool through Third Grade. To schedule a conference for your fourth grade student, please call the main office.
