A Message from our Principal!
Greetings Braves Family,
As this year comes to a close, I would like to express my appreciation for your support of your child and our school. Although this year continued to be challenging, I am thankful that our Braves family has remained safe and intact. We are truly blessed that our students are experiencing some sense of normalcy as they attend special events such as the Ring Dance, Talent Show, Drama Productions and the Prom.
Congratulations to over 700 students who have maintained the honor roll all year and achieved an award of excellence. On June 2, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. we will celebrate all of the underclassmen for their achievements and continued success. In addition, the Senior Academic Awards and Scholarship Celebration will be held on June 1, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. All parents and guardians will be notified by email within the next week if your child will be receiving an award.
I would like to wish a warm farewell to several extraordinary staff members. Cathy Bachman, Shelley Beeler, Gavin Harris, Joann Kenneday, Katrina Peterson, John Scott, Elaina Siegel, and Angela Turner. Together, they have a combined almost 200 years of service to the educational profession. In addition, they have made a significant impact on our school and the lives of our students. We wish them well in their retirement and future endeavors.
Finally, best wishes to our 366 graduating seniors. By the first of June, I will have met with each senior for our senior chat. As a result of these meetings, I am able to hear of their future plans for pursuing degrees in college, entering the workforce, or joining the Armed Forces. I truly enjoy the opportunity to get a personal insight into their ambitions. I believe with my heart that they will be successful! Additionally, I encourage the entire student body to finish the year strong.
Have a safe and wonderful summer. I look forward to partnering with students, parents, staff, and community members again next year. Always remember, Braves Are Who We Are and RISE Is What WE DO!
Sincerely,
Naomi Dunbar

Quick Tip
Quick Tip is a support system that allows students to communicate with school administrators anonymously. While the district already has many programs to help students deal with challenges such as bullying behaviors, stress, peer pressure, and family problems, Quick Tip helps break the code of silence often experienced by students because it allows them to report concerns to administrators anonymously.
Submit a Tip:
Bullying Behavior
School Threat
Weapons and Drugs
A Quick Tip mobile app is also available for download on IOS and Android devices. On the first use, enter the Location Code: Chesapeake.
