NHS December Newsletter
November 21st, 2022

Letter from NHS Administration
Wrapping up a wonderful semester...
We hope Thanksgiving break gave everyone a chance to relax and enjoy family and friends. November came and went quickly, and December promises to do the same. Our students are in the last few days of classes and preparing for final exams. Please encourage them to get all their assignments submitted, get lots of rest each night, eat a healthy breakfast, and come to school each day of finals week ready to do their best!
We are also reminded that this is a season of giving. Students are encouraged to participate in food donations, toy drives, bell ringing, and spreading cheer throughout our community. NHS will be hosting a couple joyful concerts to wrap up the semester and some rousing sporting events continuing through December. Come out and enjoy the skills and talents of our diligent, gifted NHS Raider students and teachers!
Have a Wonderful Winter Break!
NHS Admin. Team
A Friendly Reminder
Student Pick Up and Drop Off...
As the weather changes, roads and parking lots become more dangerous. Please remember to follow the campus rules for getting your students to and from school.
- Buses access and drop at Door #1 (by teacher parking). Parents/Guardians are NOT to use the drive to Door #1 to drop or pick up students.
- Parents are to drop and pick up students at Door #33 (by student parking).
It is important this rule is followed for the safety of all involved. Again, Parents/Guardians, do NOT drop your students at Door #1.

NHS School Counseling
Finish Strong!
We, the school counselors, have been busy meeting with every freshman and discussing four year plans. Our three weeks of December, we will focus on spending lots of time working with students to get them over the bar and earning the credits they need to stay on track for graduation.
All NHS Seniors received an email about Dollars for Scholars Applications, which is now open! Please encourage your seniors to apply. CLICK HERE to Apply for the scholarship! Detailed instructions are linked on the website and in the email. Don't miss out on this great opportunity to earn some money for college! The Feb. 1st deadline will be here before we know it!

Student Perspective
As a way to share the view of NHS from students, a few creative students have banned together to pen a monthly commentary entitled Sword & Shield under the pseudonym Laura O. McDonnald for the NHS Newsletter. Below is their introduction...
The Sword & Shield
by: Laura O. McDonnald
Hello Northridge Raiders:
My name is Laura McDonnald. Welcome to the student section of the NHS Newsletter. As an existing student here at Northridge, I want to take the opportunity to share the perspective I have with our greater Raider family.
As I have already passed through most of the first semester, I look back on successful games, amazing performances, and outstanding students in academics. Throughout the year I’ll feature students deserving of recognition and staff doing great things in our school/community.
Be on the lookout for more from The Sword & Shield in future editions of the Northridge Newsletter.
Good luck to all NHS students with the finals. You got this!
Talk to you soon - Laura <3
