Social Skills Program - Campus Wide
We have a wonderful program at our school that benefits all students. This marks our 5th year using Project CLASS (Children Learning Appropriate Social Skills).
Students who use Social Skills will:
· Make better grades.
· Have fewer behavior problems.
· Get along better with adults and other students.
· Have more friends and be a better friend.
Our goal is for all students in our school to be able to succeed. Social Skills lay the foundation for life success. Some of the Social Skills we focus on campus wide are: Follow Instructions, Pay Attention, Get the Teacher’s Attention, Ask Permission, Accept No, Accept Feedback, Using Kind Words, Calming Down, and Making Good Choices.
The students will be learning these Social Skills in their classes. There will also be small group lessons for some students as needed. It will help your child if these same Social Skills can be talked about and practiced at home. Additional resources to use at home can be found on the website www.projectclass.org.

HISD Parent Portal
WHAT IS HISD CONNECT?
The district's Student Information System (SIS), HISD Connect by PowerSchool, includes student contact, enrollment, and demographic information, as well as grades and online resources.
Parents are given a unique code, or access ID, for each of their students and are able to use those codes to set up an account to access their students' profiles through the parent portal. Parents who haven't received their student's access ID should contact their school.
