Worship Service November 26
“Guest At Your Table: Pursuing Liberation” with Rev. Julián Jamaica Soto and Rev. Mary Gear
The alarming rise of fascism, authoritarianism, and nationalism in the United States and in many places around the world is putting the lives of people, and the sustainability of the planet, in critical danger. We join the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC) in their outreach to grassroots partners in communities the world over on the path toward justice and liberation for all.
Rev. Julián Jamaica Soto will offer a pre-recorded sermon; Rev. Mary and other worship leaders will be onsite in the OUUC sanctuary.
The worship service starts at 10:00 am.

Keeping the Holidays Merry & Bright
The holidays are a prime time for scams of all types, and especially gift card scams. Recently the Oregon Department of Financial Regulation put out these tips:
Gift card scams often start with a call, text, email, or social media message. Scammers will say anything to get you to buy gift cards – such as Google Play, Apple, or Amazon cards – and hand over the card number and personal identification number (PIN) codes. Read more....
Volunteer and Giving Opportunities
Packs of Cheer
Many thanks for your generous donations last Sunday! I put them in with all the other donations and was excited to see the piles grow. Turtle counted 163 packs and has reached her goal of 300 scarves and hats! I will have the box available for the next two Sundays for your donations. Even if you have a hat or scarf, go ahead and put it in the box. We see folks without a hat or scarf all the time and will give them one if they want it. We still need new toothbrushes, gently used back packs, gloves, hand warmers, toothpaste, soap, bath towels (or hand towels or washcloths). Your generosity is much appreciated! It is great to feel us to be a part of some good news happening in the world. We will begin filling the packs in early December. Let's fill them all! Questions? Call Diana Finch.
Help Wanted to Run a Food Drive
Rev Sara is seeking help in running a holiday food drive at OUUC. One or two volunteers are needed to receive food in the Commons on the first two Sundays of December, and then to transport it to the food bank. If you can help, please contact Rev. Sara.
OUUC Official Gift Card Collection for LP Brown Elementary
We will be collecting gift cards at OUUC, all in $25 amounts, for LP Brown Elementary School’s families in need this holiday season. They especially want gift cards to stores where families can get a variety of holiday needs met, such as major brand grocery or big box stores. Bring cards to Rev Sara before December 17.
