A Note from our Principal
Happy New Year! I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday and were able to enjoy your children while they were out of school. Our second semester officially begins today. You will find that the second semester tends to be a little more rigorous than the first one. The students will be learning and working hard until the end of the school year.
On Tuesday, the 10th of this month, Ident-a-Kid will be available for your child to be registered with them. There is information on their website www.identakid.com if you have questions. This company has worked with the school for many years now and has provided a great opportunity for parents to have their child identified.
Please remember that there is no school on January 16th, as this is a staff development day for teachers.
I would also like to let you know that we will not be doing semester awards at the mid year point. If your child has perfect attendance, the certificates will be sent home through the teacher. We will do end of the year awards which will be scheduled at a later date. I am very proud of our students and I look forward to bragging and fussing over them at the end of the year.
Have a wonderful January everyone!

The Mitten Tree
Last month students learned the value of giving instead of always receiving. They also learned that not all gifts have to cost money.
Here are a few examples of free gift giving ideas the students came up with…
Say "I Love You"
Be nice
Clean your room
Smile
Be a friend
Give toys
Watch D.O.G.
A Note from our Nurse Mrs. Quy
Should I Keep My Child Home?
FEVER—check your child’s temperature with a thermometer. If a
temperature of 100.0 degrees or more is present, please do not
send your child to school. It does not help your child's health to
give medication for fever and send them to school, nor does it take
care of the illness that is causing the fever. Coming to school sick
(possibly contagious) not only exposes other children to the illness,
but also delays your child’s healing time. Children must be fever-free without the assistance
of medicine before returning to school. Attendance and punctuality are so
important but, staying home to recover from illness is a greater need. Stay healthy!
Please send a change of clothes
