Welcome to our CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We are delighted to share with parents and carers alike student triumphs at Corby Technical School. We are proud of every student and every success they have - please feel free to share with us any achievements they might have.

TARGET Conference
This week, safeguarding staff attended a conference organised by Service Six as part of their TARGET Project which aims to challenge the increasing dangers to children and young people online.
Year 11 - English Conference
Our Year 11 students took part in a Conference this week in preparation of their English GCSE exams. They worked in groups preparing answers to exam style questions.
Year 7 Art
Jasmine 7ST baked cupcakes for her Art class. Students were then able to draw from a primary source as part of their sweet tooth project .
Stars of the Week:
- Miss Longhurst would like to say well done to the Year 11 students who attended the History Intervention session at the weekend showing great commitment ahead of their exams.
- Mr Harley has nominated the following students this week. Alex & Fabian in 7TE for making and very high quality wooden racing car, Jayden in 8S for his excellent practical work and for help another student with advice on how to develop their practical work, Liam 9S for his excellent work using Autodesk Fusion 360 CAD software in Engineering, Year 10 Design & Technology students for their hard work in the new topic and a great attitude to learning and Aidan 11S, Tyrell 11C and Jordan 11T for their dedication to completing their Engineering course work.
- Miss Fenner has nominated Liam 11C for his dedication in English.
- Mr Cox has nominated the Year 12 Biologist for excellent work on classification and natural selection.
- Mr Cox has also nominated the Year 9 Drama students for excellent work designing costumes for the play they are studying.
- Mr McRae-Smith has nominated Year 11 students Tomasz, Matus, Daniela, Fredrico and Beate for amazing performance in their GCSE Speaking Exams for Polish, Portuguese and Russian, and for their exemplary behaviour whilst completing these exams at another school.
- Miss Watt has nominated Owen, Nikodem, Julia and Reese 7CA, Annareka and Seth 7CO and Oscar and Denisa 7TA for an outstanding FULL MARKS in their German Listening Assessment.
- Mrs Ferns would like to say Well done to the Year 7 and 8 students who took part in the UK Mathematics Individual Challenge on Thursday. The results will be announced in a couple of weeks.
Attendance Matters
Every single day a student is absent from school equates to a day lost of learning. At Corby Technical School we pride ourselves in maintaining excellent attendance. Our target is to achieve and maintain a whole school attendance of above 96.5%. We will be giving you weekly updates on our whole school attendance, the tutor group and house who achieved the highest attendance this week.
Whole School Attendance
Attendance this week is 96.2%, just short of our target.
Best Tutor Group
Best tutor group this week are 7CA with 100% attendance, well done to Mr Horne and all 7CA.
House Winner
T House are the winners this week with 97.37% attendance, well done Telford and Tacke.
Reminders:
- School will be closed on Monday 7th May for bank holiday.
- We will close for the two week break on Friday 11th May 2018. All Year 11 students will have exams during the May break and timetables will sent to all parents.
