Field Flash
January 19, 2024
Dear Field Parents and Guardians,
We hope you are staying warm during these very cold days! We were so glad to see your children back here on Wednesday; they did a very nice job settling back into our school routines. As a reminder about outdoor arrival and outdoor recess, we look at the air temperature and wind chill to make that determination. If the "feels like" temperature is 10 degrees or warmer, we are outside for morning arrival and for recess. As always, please be sure children are wearing winter gear and dress in layers, as well. Please be sure these items are labeled with your child's name.
A few items:
Please be sure to follow the rules of the road during arrival and dismissal. We are still having issues on Elmore with morning drop off on the east side of the room, as well as cars pulling to the curb going in the wrong direction. Please follow the rules of the road, even if you are running late in the morning.
Please no dogs during arrival and dismissal.
We also wanted to share that Mrs. Voigt will be on a leave of absence for January and February. Ms. Dominica McNair will be our art substitute. Her email address is dmcnair@d64.org.
The school calendar for next school year (2024-2025) is published on the District website: https://www.d64.org/about/calendar-overview. Please be sure to review it prior to making summer plans. Students first day of school is August 14th.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Dr. Courtney Goodman
Principal

The Great Kindness Challenge!
This coming week, Field is participating in the Great Kindness Challenge! Each day, students will be encouraged to demonstrate acts of kindness throughout the building (and outside of school too). You can learn more about the Great Kindness Challenge in this video! Each day will also have a spirit-wear theme. See those below! As we move into February soon, we'll continue to focus on kindness throughout that month in our social-emotional learning lessons and our morning meetings.
Best Selling Author, Troy Cummings, is coming to Field!
