Lisa Story and Carolyn Vibbert are hosting a workshop at Coles Elementary. Come learn how to use the Book Box Widget to display book covers on your school website or personal blogs.

Mt. Vernon Teacher Appreciation Night.
18th Century Holiday Traditions and we’re very excited to welcome David and Ginger Hildebrand from The Colonial Music Institute. They will play 18th century Christmas carols and wassailing tunes, and give a little history about each one. The evening also features a cocktail reception with hors d’oeuvres and candlelight tours of the mansion. The event is free and open to all Virginia, DC and Maryland teachers, but it does require registration. You can find more information, including registration, on our website.

Mt Vernon Virginia Residential Weekend: Teachers will join us at Mount Vernon for a weekend of scholarly discussions, primary source workshops and educational tours. Lectures, workshops and tours will examine George Washington as a politician, private citizen, farmer, and most importantly, a Virginian. In addition to being fully funded, travel stipends are available to defray the costs of travel to Mount Vernon. Applications are due for this weekend on Dec. 14.
