The Tea Act of 1773 was the Parliament Great Britain. It was an objective to reduce the massive surplus of tea and would launch the final spark to the revolutionary movement in Boston. This tea was to be shipped directly to the colonies, and sold at a bargain price. Colonists in Philadelphia and New York turned the tea ships back to Britain. Charleston just left the cargo to rot on the docs. The act was not intended to raise revenue in American Colonies it was in fact to imposed no new taxes.
