New Family Orientation Night
As HSE School District is preparing for redistricting transition, we are excited to announce a New Family Orientation Night. If your child will be attending CRES next year please join the CRES staff and community at Cumberland Road Elementary on May 18 from 5:00PM-7:00PM. At this time you will be able to meet staff, tour the building and learn more about your new school, PTO and community. Your new school is very excited to see you!
Field Trip Volunteers
All parent chaperones need a current background check on file and must have viewed the bullying video. Information regarding this can be found on the HSE website under the Parent Resources tab – PTO and Volunteering. The background check process takes at least a week. Thank you.
From our School Nurse
All students are required to participate in physical education. To be excused from participating, a student must have a doctor’s note stating why he/she cannot participate and for how long the student will be excused. If a student is injured and is waiting to go to a doctor, a parental note may be used to excuse ONE day. The student must have a doctor’s note to continue to be excused from physical education class.
When notes are being written to our teachers, be specific. Terms such as “limited activity, some activity, not too much activity, and do what they feel like” are very ambiguous and open to varied interpretation. Any notes which are not specific will be interpreted as no physical activity.

3rd Grade Music Concerts
Dear Parents,
We have been working hard in music class over the past few months. We are very excited to put on a showcase of all the music we have been creating. In order to better highlight the individuality and creativity of the children, we will be having two 3rd grade showcases, one hour apart. Mr. Miller’s and Ms. Roth’s classes will have a showcase on March 26th at 6:00 PM in the CRES Gym. Ms. Head, Ms. Cook, and Ms. Nussbaum’s classes will have their showcase at 7:00 PM. Students report to their teachers’ classrooms ten minutes prior to the performance. Students should wear semi-formal attire such as they would for picture day. Any shoes are fine as long as children can move easily in them. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
Sincerely,
Suley Hussain

4th grade Music Ensemble Parents
Dear 4th Grade Before School Music Ensemble Parents,
We have been working hard before school over the past few months in our music ensemble. We are very excited to put on a showcase of all the music we have been creating. We will have a showcase on Wednesday, March 25th at 6:30 PM in the CRES Gym. **This was moved from the originally planned date of Thursday, the 19th due to Family Engineering Night. Students will report to the music room at 6:15 PM.
In order to be prepared for the concert, and to make up for the delay days, we will have one extra rehearsal the day of the concert: Wednesday March 25th at 8:00 AM. This will be in addition to the three remaining normal Tuesday rehearsals. Students should wear semi-formal attire such as they would for picture day. Any shoes are fine as long as children can move easily in them. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
Sincerely,
Suleman Hussain

Grab a Few Friends, Lace Up Your Cleats & Prepare for Competition
Seasons are changing which means Sunday is no longer the laziest day of the week! Get outdoors, squeeze in some physical activity and find an excuse to hang out with your friends. Fishers Parks & Recreation’s spring softball league is back; inviting adults 18 and older to participate in six weeks of play with games taking place Sundays between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. Gather your friends and create the dream team or contact Fishers Parks & Recreation to sign up as a free agent. Either way, Sunday will become your new favorite day of the week spent getting competitive at Roy G. Holland Memorial Park. This league will end with a tournament, so we’ll really know which team’s earned bragging rights!
Playing for fun instead of playing to win? Choose between three levels of recreation play, A being the highest , B being moderate and C being the lowest competition level to make the most out of your experience. Whether you’re playing to win or playing as a teambuilding activity, there’s something for everyone! Registration is due by March 27, and this league costs residents $409 and nonresidents $614. Residents is based on team captain who should plan to attend a mandatory captain meeting at the Roy G. Holland Memorial Park Building on Wednesday, April 8 from 6 until 7 p.m. There will not be games May 10 and 24 unless they are needed as rain make-up dates.
Fishers Parks & Recreation strives to host diverse programs that residents of all ages can enjoy. Register as an individual to meet some new friends, sign up with office mates to enjoy teambuilding, or get sign up to hang out with a few friends each week. Lace up your cleats and get ready to run the bases with Fishers Parks & Recreation.
Recruit your team and secure a spot today, this league fills quickly!Sports News
