Let's get Green!
As of Monday, April 11th, students will recycle their milk cartons at lunch! Thanks to the cooperation of custodial and cafeteria staff, students will empty their milk in the trash before placing the carton in the blue recycling bins. Please make your students aware of this new method of milk disposal. Encourage children to recycle, just in time for Earth Day! Even better, encourage them to reduce- if they do not drink milk, they are not required to take it. Let's encourage a culture of waste reduction here at Fairview Elementary!
If you have any questions or suggestions, you can email Katie Edwards.
A special "healthy" invitation from Tammy Harris:
Dear Friends,
I wanted to make you all aware that a group of us here at Fairview are doing some walking, jogging, or running after school. We plan to meet on Tuesday'sand Friday's. I will plan to meet on Wednesday's and Thursday's for those that might like that time better.
Our Girls on the Run team meet on Monday, Wednesday and Friday's. Our plan is not to get in their way. Right now, we can meet on the track, but that will change in a few weeks. We will use the parking lot or ballfield if needed. Our plan is to gather up at the track or parking lot in front of the school around 4:00pm on Tuesday's. The other days are more like 4:15 or 4:30pm. If assistants would like to meet closer to 3:30 or so, then I am sure that a group can get together at that time as well. Please feel free to join us on the day and time that works for you.
Due to this beautiful Spring-like weather????, we will start back up next Tuesday. If we cancel on any of those days due to weather, then I will let you know via email.
Grab your tennis shoes and come join us!!!!
