Mid-Year Benchmarks Are Coming!
Each year the KMS staff conducts a mid-year benchmark to monitor the academic growth of our students. In order to prepare for the fast approaching state mandated tests, we will need to see exactly where each student demonstrates strengths and areas in which he/she may need to grow.
Our mid-year benchmarks are scheduled for January 24 and 25. It is essential that the students come well rested and prepared to test all day on these assigned days. We also encourage students to bring a healthy, hand-held snack and bottled water to enjoy while testing.
Please know that should your student fall short of the benchmark expectations, he/she will be invited to attend mandatory tutorial sessions each morning from 7:45 - 8:10. Students will only be required to attend tutorials in areas where he/she demonstrated a need for additional targeted instruction.
If you have any questions regarding the upcoming benchmark tests, please do not hesitate to contact our front offices.

Character Counts at KMS!
CCC! Campaign (CAUGHT using your CHARACTER COUNTS!)
The CCC! campaign is an activity to support the Character Education program at KMS. 8th grade student council volunteers deliver a video recorded character lesson from the Character Counts! model once a week during advisory. Each week students and staff can nominate one student that they have "caught" using good character. The names will go into a drawing to be held every Friday during all three grade's lunches. Winners will receive gift cards to Sonic, Starbucks, Yogurt Story or Braum's. At the end of the year all nominations will go into one drawing for an IPAD.
