Message from the Principal
Dear Knight Families,
THANK YOU in every language and as loudly as I can type! ACP teachers felt appreciated and spoiled this week with yummy food, kind notes, and generous gifts. Thank you so much for showing our staff love and appreciation this week and all year. We really are blessed with great kids and caring families. My question is... when is parent appreciation week? You guys rock!
8th Grade End of Year Events
We secured the Chandler Center for the Arts on May 19th to celebrate our 8th graders and their completion of middle school. I am really sorry we are unable to accommodate parents due to limited capacity at the CCA so we hope to live-stream or record it.
The 8th grade awards assembly will happen during the school day on May 19th. This will be a formal event so I will be asking 8th graders to dress to impress that day. We are working to have all 8th graders have lunch together that day before the assembly. After finals, we invite you back for an 8th grade morning drive-thru celebration like we did last year. This will take place Friday, May 28th at 7:30am. One last parent drop-off.
I hope you had a restful and happy Mother's Day Weekend!
Go Knights!

ACP Library Update
All library books and textbooks are due by May 14th! We are hoping students will help us get ready for our big move to the new campus by getting everything turned in on time.
For now, students are able to sign up for a time to visit the library during lunch (after they eat) or for 30 minutes after school. (Space is limited to encourage social distancing.) They may sign up to work at a table, use a computer, or to browse the collection. Each student only needs to sign up for one spot. Students will sign up via SignUpGenius. Parents may sign up for students, but please make sure the student’s name is listed! Click here for the SignUpGenius for April 12-16: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080844ADA72FA6F58-library25
A link to the SignUpGenius form can also be found on the ACP-Oakland Library website, which is located here: https://www.cusd80.com/domain/5815.
POWER HOUR REGISTRATION FOR MAY
Power Hour is an academic support we provide at ACPO on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays throughout the school year. It is a time where students can go to study and work on any of their academic classes. If needed, there is a classroom teacher available to answer questions. Space is limited to 20 students and pre-registration is required. All students must have a reserved a spot prior to attending a session. Power Hour runs from 2:50 pm to 3:50 pm Tuesday-Thursday's. Room locations are listed in the Upcoming Events section above.
Students must be picked up promptly at 3:50 pm at parent pick-up. As a reminder, ACPO does not have afterschool care. Students continually picked up late may lose the privilege of participating in Power Hour.
Notes:
- These are not instructor led sessions and parents must provide student transportation.
- In order to attend, all students must signup weekly through signup genius to ensure sufficient space is available.
- Under current Executive Order, facial coverings are mandated.
To ensure that all students have the opportunity to attend Power Hour as needed, students may only be signed-up for 1 week at a time.
