Diy.org and the Power of Making
There's a whole movement around "Making" that is impacting education and the whole world, and it's really exciting. Think about the old time Soap Box Derby races where kids made and raced cars, or our very own modern day robotics competitions. Both of these examples are great connections for education.
What will your students MAKE today?
Check out Diy.org for lots of great ideas. I bet you'll see a project there that ties in to something you teach and if you're really interested, check out Maker Faire and this video on the importance of making in education by Adam Savage (from Myth Busters).
Make on!
