Cluttered Classroom is Getting a Redesign!
I cannot fully express my joy, excitement, and thanks for the donations to our classroom project. Because of each generous donation, our classroom will be able to remove desks/chairs in order to learn comfortably and collaboratively.
Students will get comfortable seating to discuss learning, common literacy books, and encourage one another as writers. Students will now get the opportunity to bounce or move to refocus their brain. The lap desks will allow students to move around the room and continue to work collaboratively or independently. All of these things will allow our active classroom to experience realistic, collaborative learning while preserving the FUNdamentals of schooling.
With gratitude,
Mrs. W.

Texas History
We are working hard to become experts at European exploration. Continue to watch our journey to the unknown lands (North America).
Science
This picture is from our second week together. What form of energy can you observe/inference from the picture? The different forms of energy include mechanical, sound, electrical, light and heat/thermal energy.
Math
Today, we focused on the array model, area model, partial product, and standard algorithm in order to multiply a 2-digit by 1-digit number or 2-digit. We are working to bridge concrete base-ten blocks to the array model, area model, partial product, and the standard algorithm for multiplication. Currently, we are working on using our most comfortable strategy when solving multiplication cluster problems. Look for our strategies to continue moving forward this week.
Reading
Today, we observed how cause and effect sentence structure helps grow the plot. Stay tuned and watch our anchor chart grow as we grow as learners.
Writing
The Plot Chickens by Mary Jane and Herm Auch provides an egg-cellent way to write a good story that follows Henrietta, the hen, through her eggs-ploration of the writing process. Henrietta is currently sharing the following rules:
Rule 1: You need a main character.
Rule 2: You need to hatch a plot.
Rule 3: Give your main character a problem.
Rule 4: Develop your plot by asking "What if?"
Word Work
Word work is not just in isolation! Our spelling instruction is learned during the process of reading and writing. This means spelling is taught in context.
Our Cluttered Classroom items are beginning to arrive! Stay tuned for updates ...
