January 2017
Happy New Year!
Welcome Back! I hope everyone had a restful and peaceful break. I was delighted that we had such wonderful weather over the break and that our students were able to play outside and take advantage of this time.
We are changing the format of our newsletter to a program called Smore and will begin publishing our newsletters in digital format. It will be emailed to parents via School Messenger. In January, we will send both a paper version as well as an email version to parents. Beginning in February, you will only receive it via email therefore, if you do not receive an email version, please notify the school to update your records. We will also be posting the campus newsletter on our school website, Facebook and Twitter accounts so that parents will have multiple ways in which to receive them. Additionally, the newsletters will have links to websites and/or forms for things like field trips, t-shirts, etc. Watch your email for our newsletter!

We have been practicing our typing skills using the correct hand placement and posture. We have been working on increasing our typing speed. This month we will be taking typing tests to increase and improve our typing skills.
We will also start working on projects using Google Slides. The students will be given a topic and rubric to create a slide presentation. They will present their finished project in class.
Students can go to my webpage to access links to practice their typing skills.

Notes From Music
Congratulations on a fantastic performance in December to all students and Bobcat Choir! This month music gets back in the groove of our normal routine. We will continue to sing, play games, and move to music during the week and enjoy Folk Dance Fridays. 4th grade will focus on learning the notes of the Treble Clef. 5th grade will both review Treble Clef and begin learning Bass Clef.
Choir will continue to meet on Tuesdays this month beginning on Tuesday January 10th.
