BOND 2025 COMMUNITY INFORMATION SESSIONS
DSISD will host two Community Information Sessions on the 2025 Bond on Wednesday, April 9 in the Center for Learning & Leadership. A morning session (9:30 - 10:30 AM) and evening session (6:00 - 7:00 PM) will be offered for DSISD stakeholders. The sessions will include a presentation by Superintendent Dr. Holly Morris-Kuentz, Deputy Superintendent Elaine Cogburn and Chief Operating Officer Scott Berry. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions during the session.

WORLD SCHOOLS DEBATE TEAM PLACES SECOND AT TFA STATE TOURNAMENT
The Dripping Springs High School World Schools Debate team of Liam Ianiro, Will McAdams and Zoey Parks delivered a historic performance by placing second at the Texas Forensic Association (TFA) State Tournament on Saturday, March 8 in Fulshear.
The trio, named Dripping Springs Gold, compiled a 10-1 tournament record while narrowly falling in the final round to reigning champions, Flower Mound, by a 2-1 decision.
Dripping Springs also saw success in the speech events, with Evie Grimm and Claire Unger advancing to the quarterfinals for the second time. Audrey Staker earned quarterfinalist honors in Informative Speaking for the second consecutive year, while Anvika Jain made a strong debut at the state level, securing a quarterfinal finish in Program Oral Interpretation.
The speech and debate program qualified a total of 19 students for the 2025 TFA State Tournament, tying a school record from 2023. In order to qualify, students must earn at least 12 points throughout the competition season by placing at TFA qualifying tournaments.
DECA STUDENTS SUCCESSFUL AT STATE; FOUR ADVANCE TO ICDC
Four Dripping Springs High School DECA students advanced to the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) after competing at the State Career Development Conference last week in Dallas.
Qualifying for the ICDC are freshman Faith Hyde (Principles of Hospitality & Tourism) and juniors Jack McClure (School-Based Enterprise), Bella Rose (Restaurant & Food Service Management Series) and Audrey Ward (Human Resources Management Series). Both McClure and Rose also advanced to the ICDC in 2024.
In addition, five Dripping Springs High School students were named state finalists in their respective events including sophomore Hima Katta (Principles of Finance), juniors Chase Evans and Jack Kroll (Sports & Entertainment Marketing Team Decision Making) and seniors Sophia Kerr (Career Development Project) and Emily McKey (Quick Serve Restaurant Management Series).
The International Career Development Conference will be held April 25-30 in Orlando, Florida.

K-3 PHONICS INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS ADOPTION REVIEW
Parents and community members are welcome to participate in the Dripping Springs ISD Instructional Materials Adoption Review for grades K-3 Phonics that will be implemented in August 2025. The instructional materials can be reviewed here or in person at the Center for Learning & Leadership (300 Sportsplex Drive) on school days from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. until Friday, April 4.
Selecting grade-level instructional materials, adopted by the State Board of Education (SBOE), is an essential task for DSISD. This information as well as a feedback form can be found here on the DSISD website.
