Gabby's Home Life, July 12th
Sseko Designs Big Birthday Sale
Once a Year Sale
This sale is too good to pass up!
This ethical company is supporting women in Uganda through its very existence, so sales don’t come around too often. If you’ve been seeing my social media posts and have thought “This is a bit too rich for my budget” now is a great time finally bring home the items on your wish list for less.
BUT ACT FAST, some of these items will be discontinued during our upcoming Fall/Winter collection and may not even return next year! But don’t fret, I wouldn’t sell anything that didn’t come with a Lifetime Warranty and excellent return policy. So grab a pair of sandals today!
A switch from C+I to Sseko
You may have noticed that I have been excited about my new Sseko Designs adventure. With nearly 5 years of Chloe + Isabel under my belt, I felt the pull to Sseko because of their ethical fashion and their beautiful accessories. We are doing something to protect and give back to people of the world because Sseko is not just about women, it's about the community we support through local sourcing of our materials and making a safe place for many women and their families.
I believe deeply that girls are our future and I know that millions of women and girls across the globe don’t have access to educational and economic opportunities.Yet, as heart broken as that makes me, I’ve often felt overwhelmed about what I could possibly do to make a difference for millions of the most vulnerable girls across the globe.
Sseko was started 8 years ago by a woman named Liz Bohannon who felt this same tension between wanting to use her privilege to help make the world a little better for girls across the globe, but having NO idea where to start. So. She quit her first full-time job and moved to Uganda without a plan (or money or a job, for that matter!). She met an incredible group of some of the smartest women in Uganda who tested into college but couldn’t afford to go. She designed a pair of strappy sandals that have a leather base and interchangeable fabric straps that can be tied in styled in hundreds of way!
So then Liz hired three young women, Mary, Mercy and Rebecca. And she promised them that if they made sandals for the nine month gap between high school and college, that they would go to college the next Fall. Then she came back home to the U.S. and started doing...this! Sharing the Sseko story and selling cute, strappy sandals at Trunk Shows in living rooms across America. When Liz started looking for fellow Impact Entrepreneurs to partner with her to her build this business and create community and opportunity for women like Mary, Mercy, and Rebecca knew I had found my why!
