PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Happy Friday Titans,
Next week we have a full week of exciting activities and events to keep our Titans "Smart, Happy & Connected!"
I personally invite all Titan families to join me at "Get Connected Night" on Tuesday, September 26th from 6-8 pm in the EPMS Café. Families are welcome to drop-in for a portion or stay the whole time. We will have 35 booths, two giant-sized "Connect Four" games, and Moe’s BBQ available for purchase. Our PTSA will be on hand to connect parents with volunteer opportunities, and to explain how parents can contribute to our "Beyond the Classroom" PTSA Campaign. At “Get Connected Night” our families can learn about activities, programs, sports, etc., and will be able to meet the advisors and students involved.
Jr. Beta will host their first meeting on Thursday morning, September 28th in the Media Center. Thank you to Ms. Micheaux White for stepping into the role of advisor. I appreciate Dr. Darold Foote’ for creating a strong Jr. Beta foundation and for his help with the transition. Jr. Beta Club is designed to develop smart leadership skills.
On Thursday after-school, our 6th Grade Tailgate Party will take place in the cafeteria. Our 6th graders are very excited. If your child has not yet purchased a ticket, he or she will want to be part of the fun because our PTSA really knows how to throw a rocking tailgate!
Reflections Contest entries are due to the front office by the end of the day on Friday, September 29th. This contest is a wonderful opportunity for your child to express his or her creativity. I am looking forward to seeing the ways our Titans interpret the theme..."Within Reach."
Have a great weekend Titans!

Featured Teacher: Meet Our New Jr. Beta Adviser
Meet Our New Jr. Beta Advisor!
Greetings to all students and parents of Jr. Beta!
My name is Micheaux White and I'm extremely excited to introduce myself to you as Jr. Beta chair this year at Elkins Pointe middle school.
Just to add a little bit of information about myself: I'm a former student of Elkins Pointe and I graduated from Roswell high school as well! I received my bachelor's degree in middle-level education from the lovely Georgia State University in which I will be attending again as a graduate student next year! (Go Panthers!)
I currently teach 8th grade Georgia History at EPMS, which I absolutely adore. I'm so thankful to have been given the opportunity to lead Jr.Beta this year. As Jr. Beta chair, I look forward to working with students, colleagues, and parents to assist within the community of North Fulton as well as surrounding communities.
This year, students will again get the opportunity to provide assistance, leadership, and service within many different programs and organizations. Jr. Beta members are students who work hard to achieve academic excellence and good moral character, these young people are truly remarkable! It is a true honor to help lead a program that will assist our students in leading bright, successful futures.
I can't wait to meet each and every one of you at our first meeting on Thursday, September 28th from 8:00-8:30 in the media center.
Sincerely,
Micheaux White

Community Outreach
Water Wednesdays!
Did you know that approximately 10,000 individuals living in the North Fulton area (Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Milton, Roswell and Mountain Park) are either unemployed, underemployed or without basic resources like food, clothing, and shelter? North Fulton Community Charities wants to offer a way to help these families.
Our agency has created a really simple way for you to help. It's called Water Wednesday. For the next 10 weeks (or longer if you wish), we are challenging you to drink only water and donating $5.00 or more to NFCC. It is most likely what you would have spent on coffee, tea or some other beverage and here at NFCC we can put it to good use.
Water Wednesday is a quick and easy way to hydrate your body AND to help others HYDRATE their life. Sign up. Donate.. Tell a Friend...SPREAD THE WORD AND MAKE THE DIFFERENCE.
Our goal is to raise $45,000.
Courage to Care
- $50: will pay for 2 weekly MARTA passes for someone looking for work or two tanks of gas
- $100: will heat a home for a month, or provide air conditioning during summer for a frail senior
- $160: covers the GED exam fees for an adult who has been studying hard at the Education Center @ $40 for each of 4 subject modules
- $260: pays for one week in a hotel for a homeless mother and one child
