A Message From Our Principal
Today, the Catholic Church observes the Solemnity of the Annunciation, when the angel appeared to Mary, announcing that she would give birth to Jesus, the Son of God. This day traditionally occurs nine months before Christmas, usually the week after Easter Sunday.
HUGE THANKS to all of our volunteers who made this year’s POG Run for the Roses a memorable evening. Special thanks to Maria Orand, Chair, and Amanda Ybarra, Co-Chair, for a job WELL DONE!
This night exemplifies what a Catholic School community is all about. Everyone doing their part for the good of the kids we serve. God bless you all!
We recognized four 7th graders for participating in the Duke Talent Identification Program. Each took either the SAT or ACT college entrance exams. They are: Evan Bazikov, Brennan Cox, Ivan Lopez, and Cooper Salerno. Evan qualified for State Recognition and will be participating in Duke’s Summer Studies at Appalachian State University (North Carolina). Congratulations to all!

A letter from our POG Chair
Staff and parents,
I would like to say it was an honor to be the chair for the Hornet Derby Pot O' Gold 2018. I want to thank each of you for making the night a success. It could not have been done without all the great items you donated, all the raffle tickets you sold, decorations you made, the time you gave for class and BIN projects and for helping make beautiful baskets, for staying late with me the week leading up to POG and the volunteers who showed up on Saturday morning in the cold to get all the items moved in and set up. We received so many wonderful donations and were able to make 180 baskets for silent and live auction!
I could not have made it through the last few months without the help, prayers and encouraging words from so many of you.
Thank you again for allowing me to serve our students and school. It was an adventure I am glad I said yes to.
God Bless
Maria Orand

Stephen Breen Memorial Foundation Spirit Games 2018
On Sunday, April 29, Holy Family will once again participate in the Stephen Breen Memorial Foundation Spirit Games 2018. This foundation has been a tremendous help in offering financial assistance to families. This is an incredible blessing and we are so very grateful for the help received from the foundation.
You may register your children by going online to www.STEPHENBREENMEMORIALFOUNDATION.ORG to register for this fun-filled event. Gates open at 10 am and Spirit Games will begin with Mass at
11:00 am. After Mass there will be free carnival games, kickball, dodgeball, face painting, sand art, and Nolan Catholic High School concession stands will be open to purchase food and drink.
In addition, we want to build excitement for the Spirit Games. When you register, you will receive a t-shirt that serves as your admission. We hope to have the students wear their Spirit Games shirts the week of April 23 (except for Mass day). We are looking forward to this wonderful event and can’t wait to see our Holy Family Catholic School families in attendance.
Please contact the school if you have any questions
Congratulations to our 7th and 8th Grade Band!
HFCS UNIFORM UPDATE
On January 19, 2018, all HFCS families were informed that Parker School Uniforms had closed its doors and HFCS was working in conjunction with the Diocese to procure a new uniform vendor. HFCS is happy to announce that the new uniform vendor will be Mills Uniform Company. Though the initial contract has been signed there are several steps that must be completed, as follows:
1. Final selection of uniform items offered. The HFCS plaid and general color scheme are NOT changing; however, there WILL BE changes in the items that are considered the official HFCS uniform. Therefore, it is very important to not make any uniform purchases of any kind until the new uniform guidelines are published, the online store is established and Mills has an opportunity to stock their brick and mortar store.
2. Approval of logo artwork on select uniform items offered.
3. Approval of online store before going live.
4. Publication of new uniform guidelines.
It is HFCS’ intent to complete all of this work by the end of the current school year. At that time you will receive an email with the new guidelines and information on how to make a uniform purchase. The school's website will also be updated with this information and linked to the online store.
