Reminder Elementary School Families: It's Parent/Teacher Conferences Week: Monday, October 9th - Friday, October 13th. Elementary Schools will follow a minimum day schedule all week for all elementary students. Our elementary school teachers look forward to meeting with parents/guardians! Calendar Reminder: There is no school for CVUSD students on Monday, October 16th. We hope our school communities enjoy the three-day weekend ahead!

In the CVUSD we have a right fit for every student. For families who would like to enroll their student in a CVUSD school other than their assigned neighborhood school, this may be completed via the School Choice Application process.

The School Choice Application for the 2024-2025 school year will be available for families to complete ONLINE HERE beginning on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at 8am. School Choice Applications must be submitted by Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 11:59 pm in order to be considered “on time” and to be included in the lottery process.

Congratulations to our three comprehensive high schools: Newbury Park High School, Thousand Oaks High School, and Westlake High School, which were all named to the 2023 Advanced Placement® Program (AP®) School Honor Roll. The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP program is delivering results and broadening access for students.

Schools can earn the Honor Roll recognition annually based on their ability to increase their school’s college-going culture, to provide opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness. We are so proud of our three phenomenal comprehensive high schools for earning this recognition and for their outstanding work to welcome more students into AP courses and support them on the path to college success! At the Wednesday, October 4, 2023 Board of Education Meeting, CVUSD teachers: Kim Hargrave, Brett Lane, Brian Peter and Karine Szakos shared an engaging presentation on the CVUSD Elementary PE Program and Music Program.

On Wednesday, October 4th, communities across the U.S. highlighted the importance of safe, active travel to school. This included several of our CVUSD schools who partnered with the City of Thousand Oaks and Thousand Oaks Police Department for a special morning of Walk & Roll to School fun!
