LETTER FROM YOUR PRINCIPAL
Hello Bobcats Families!
Thank you to everyone who came to Grandfriend's Day! It was a great event and the students were so happy and felt so special having their special people come to school with them.
LAEF Donation Campaign
Consider making a donation ato LAEF (Los Altos Educational Foundation). LAEF provide valuable programs and teachers to Santa Rita and the LASD community. These essential funds support all Santa Rita students, teachers, staff, and families in impactful ways. Your contributions to LAEF direct donation drives are a meaningful way to support a well-rounded educational experience. Every little bit counts - thank you!
NATIONAL HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH - September 15th-October 15th
National Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated in the United States each year starting on Sept. 15 and ending on Oct. 15. The observation of this holiday began in 1968 when President Lyndon Johnson established Hispanic Heritage Week. In 1988, President Ronald Reagan expanded this observance to 30 days. It was officially enacted into law on Aug. 17, 1988.
You may be wondering … why Sept. 15? Sept. 15 marks the anniversary of the independence of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. Mexico celebrates its independence anniversary on Sept. 16, with Chile celebrating on Sept. 18.
Whether you’d like to celebrate the heritage of your family’s legacy or if you come from a different culture and want to support and encourage our Hispanic neighbors in the Bay Area, there are many ways you can participate. Here is a link to some Bay Area Activities

Ms. Williams has also created a WISH LIST of books that were lost and need to be replaced or new books that are high interest for our students. Please consider donating one of these books as a "birthday gift" to our library! Thank you for your support! Questions or book suggestions email mwilliams@lasdk8.org
