Welcome to Krum Middle School
Greetings Bobcat Families,
It was another week of hard work, learning, and fun at KMS. In addition to their regular academic schedule, many students attended tutorials and closely monitored their grades in anticipation of 6 weeks progress reports which went home on Friday, September 22nd. For students that are making desired progress I encourage you to maintain focus. If your student is not making the progress they expect, I encourage them to attend tutorials, complete and turn in assignments, and set aside time to prepare for projects and exams. Our teachers are always here to help. Students in extracurricular activities that did not pass all subjects will become ineligible Friday, September 29th. The good news is our next grading landmark is just around the corner with 9 weeks report cards. On the extracurricular front it was a week filled with spirit and excellence. Our cheerleaders did an awesome job with our first KMS Pep Rally of the year. Our football and volleyball teams had a great week. The Lady Cats swept Azle and while the Bobcats swept Mineral Wells. Cross country found success at the Bowie Rabbit Run. The Girls placed 2nd and the Boys placed 3rd overall. Medalists were: Girls - Brooklyn Taylor 1st, Payton Andrus 9th, Carlie Marquez 13th, Melanie Villanueva 16th, and Bryce Borchardt 18th. Boys - Hayden Mullins 6th, Alexander Ebosele 14th, Gage Majesko 16th, Austin North 21st, Quade Fedderson 25th. Please remember students do not have school on Monday. Our staff will be participating in a planning day to get ready for the end of this grading period and to prepare for the next 9 weeks. We hope you are having a great long weekend KMS families. See you Tuesday!
Go Bobcats!

BFND NEWS
Book Fair is Coming to KMS!
We love to celebrate books and reading here at KMS! Our Scholastic Book Fair will be here on campus from October 2nd-6th. The book fair will be open during our Open House on October 2nd. There will be opportunities for students and families to:
Purchase awesome books!
Donate books and spare change to our partnered school in Houston.
Gift books to your child's teacher based on their "wish list."
We hope to see you there!
Penny Wars for Houston!
So many Houston schools were affected by Hurricane Harvey; KMS wants to offer its support. Many teachers lost everything in their classrooms. In a gesture of giving, we are partnering with Burbank Middle School in HISD to donate books to their library and teacher's classrooms by having a "Penny Wars for Houston".
The "Penny Wars" will run as a competition between advisory classes. Each advisory class will keep a jar and fill it with pennies! Students may put Silver change into other advisory class jars to subtract from their overall total. The winning Advisory class will receive a reward.
Send in your spare change! All proceeds will go to buying books to donate to our sister school in Houston.
"Penny Wars for Houston" will be happening from September 25th-October 9th.
