School Start Time and Adequate Supervision
We want to provide our students with a safe and orderly environment and adequate supervision is a part of these efforts. Unless students are participating in an approved before school activity or have an appointment with a teacher, students should not be in the building before 7:40 a.m. Thank you for your help in keeping our students safe.

Steve Boyle
Steve comes to us from Hall High School where he has been a School Counselor since 1999. He is one of 8 children born to Irish immigrants, a former Division 1 Basketball player and the father of three daughters. Steve started in the district working with students at risk of dropping out and developed R.E.A.C.H (West Hartford's Alternative High School). Before that, he taught and coached in New York City (3 years) and Seattle, WA (5 years). Steve is also known as "Coach Boyle" as he has coached X-Country, Soccer, Basketball, Track and Lacrosse. About 7 years ago, he and his wife started the 2-4-1 Sports Academy - not surprisingly, their motto is "Life's 2 Short 4 Just 1 Sport". What is the PTC? It is a group that meets approximately once a month during the school year to hear presentations on matters that impact the entire school district. Each meeting generally has a primary topic, followed by a report by the Superintendent as well as reports from the Chairman of the BOE as appropriate. There is also an opportunity for Q&A and discussion throughout the meeting. The meeting is not designed to be open to the public or for mass attendance – it is an opportunity for each school’s representative to meaningfully participate in a dialogue with school district leadership and the other school representatives, then communicate back to their school’s on those discussions.
What are the expectations for PTC Representatives? Attendance and participation in the monthly meetings, followed by reporting out on the meeting’s content to their school’s community. In addition, the PTC regularly gets information on other activities going on throughout the districts – representatives are expected to timely pass that information on to their school communities as well. The meetings usually take place monthly during the school year starting in October at Town Hall from 7-8:15 p.m.
