The bell rings at 7:50 AM each day, and learning begins at that time! Students are LATE if they arrive at that time and must be dropped off at the front of the school. If you are dropping your child off at the front after the bell rings, you need to get out with your child, sign them in, and provide our attendance clerk with the reason for your child's tardiness.

• Car Tags- Please keep your car tag hanging and visible until your child is in the car.
• Please keep in mind, that we will not release students past 2:30 PM.
• Updated Contacts- Parents, please review your child's emergency contacts in the parent portal. If someone is not on the list, we cannot release students, even with their license provided. Please update all contact information!
• If a student is dropped off at 7:50 AM or later, you will need to sign in at the front office.
• For any changes in after-school transportation, please contact the office by 2:00 PM so that we have time to relay the message to the student and teacher.
• Label EVERYTHING! At the end of each 9-week period, all unclaimed items (jackets, clothing, shoes, etc.) will be donated. Please write your child's name on their clothing and items so that it can be identified more easily.
• Connect with your child's teacher by signing up for their teacher communication (Remind, Dojo, etc.)

Steps to join:

1 - Go to joinpta.org

2 - Click the "Join PTA" button

2 - Select "Tyler ISD" in the School District dropdown menu

3 - Select "TJ Austin Elementary of Tyler" in the PTA dropdown menu and register/pay

• October 9-13 - Book Fair (Grandparents/Grand-friends are invited to eat lunch with their child and visit the Book Fair)

• October 12 - Hispanic Heritage Performance/Program 6:00 PM

• October 13 - Muffins with Moms 7:10-7:40 AM (PTA Event)

• October 16 - No school for students

• October 17 - Picture Make-Up Day

• October 20 - Kona Ice Day

• October 20- 1st 9 weeks Awards Ceremony

• October 26 - Fall Festival

• October 23-27 - Red Ribbon Week (Theme: Celebrate LIFE; Live Drug Free)

• November 9 - Family Literacy Night & PTA Meeting 5:30 PM

• November 10- Veterans Day Program

• November 14 - PE Showcase @Rose Stadium

• November 17 - Kona Ice Day

• November 21-24- Thanksgiving Break - No School
