Hello Pinewood Families!

It was great celebrating Kindness week with all of you! It reminds me why Pinewood is the best place to be! Let's work on keeping the kindness going throughout the year!

TK/K Enrollment - I'm excited to announce that we will be opening up enrollment for our incoming TK/K students on February 1st. Students are eligible to enroll in TK if they turn 5 between September 2, 2024 and June 2, 2025. Students are eligible to enroll in Kindergarten if they turn 5 on or before September 1, 2024. This process can be started online by clicking here, or by coming into the office to get an enrollment packet. Our online enrollment can also be found on our school website. We can't wait to meet all of our new students!

Academic Teams Starting Soon! - We're excited for the return of Oral Interpretation and Spelling Bee! All of our teams are getting started very soon.

Spelling Bee is for 1st-4th graders, and is being coached by Mrs. Curtin and Ms. Christina. Tryouts start this Tuesday at lunch. Use this link to sign up, or complete the paperwork sent home.

Oral Interpretation is for 4th graders and is being coached by Ms. Cassara. The first practice is after school on Tuesday, February 6th. Use this link to sign up, or call our school office.

Getting along with others helps make our school a happier place. To get along with others, we need to have empathy for each other. Empathy is feeling or understanding what someone else is feeling. This week, be a feelings detective! Try to notice how your classmates are feeling throughout the week. Watch their faces and bodies for clues!

PTC will be meeting Tuesday, February 13th @ 2:45pm in the gym. We are a group of families and staff members who would love your help in planning family-friendly events, awesome assemblies for our kids and finding ways to support and enhance the school community!

As the weather begins to change, we typically see an increase in the number of power outages in the area. Keep in mind that we recently installed generators that can operate our entire campus. Even if the power is out in the area, school will likely be in session. If we do cancel school due to a power outage, or for any other reason, we will notify you through all of our schoolwide communication systems.

Hello Pinewood families and staff!

We invite you to help our yearbook team collect photos of all the fun moments and activities this school year. To help enhance the Pinewood yearbook and ensure it is full of meaningful memories for our students, we ask that you please consider sharing photos you take of school related activities/events (while on campus, field trips, sports and other school events). You may email photos to pwyearbook@ppesd.org now and throughout the year. Keep in mind that the yearbook team will be working hard in the spring to complete and finalize our yearbook. The earlier you send them, the better.

Note: While we want everyone to send photos, due to size and layout limitations, we may not be able to include them all. If there is a photo you want to ensure is in your personal yearbook, remember to take advantage of the 2 free custom pages that TreeRing offers when you purchase a yearbook for your family, and include your special photo(s) there.

IMPORTANT: This email is monitored by a parent volunteer, NOT school staff. Do not send questions or content regarding topics other than the yearbook to this email. Please utilize your normal routes of communication with your student's teacher or the office for all other inquiries.
