Big Book Quiz

A group of Year 7 and 8 students attended the Big Book Quiz at Corby Business Academy this week. Students dressed as their favourite character.

Operating Theatre Live

Students from Years 10 and 12 were given the opportunity to to step into a live operating theatre for a unique and unforgettable anatomy experience.

Sports Relief 2018

We raised £21 for Sports Relief 2018. Pictured is Year 9 student Rainers clocking up the miles on the bike.

Stars of the Week:

Mr Gourlay would like to say Well done to Dmitrijs 12H who continues to put in maximum effort in his A Level Computer Science studies. Mr Gourlay has also nominated James 11S who has been superb in computer science lessons and has been brilliantly dedicated to meeting his potential in the run up to his exam and Logan 11C who has shown great commitment in ICT revision lessons.
Mr McRae-Smith has nominated the following Year 11 students for their excellent work on their German writing mock exams Faye, Kacper, Lucy, Taylor, Tomasz, Aaron, Jordan and Jasmine.
Mr Godfrey has nominated Dominika 9S for producing consistently high standards of work in Science.
Miss Longhurst has nominated Year 11 students Leonie, James, Alexandra and Evelyn for productive revision quizzes during RSCS.
Miss Fenner has nominated Callum 10T for consistent hard work and attitude to learning in English. Miss Fenner has also nominated Tamsyn 8S and James 9T for their extra curricular work using English skills.
Mrs Morgan has nominated Lana 7ST for producing amazing pieces of Art work.
Mr Finan has nominated Marcel 11S for showing great skills in Science during the recent revision sessions surpassing his target grade.
Mr Harley has nominated Naya 7TE for always being very help in Design and Technology and for her excellent work Anna in 8S for excellent contribution to lessons. Also nominated are Year 11 Product Design students Jamie, Curtis, Jack, Luc, Tomasz, Tia, Akash, Drew, Jasmine and Shawn for their hard work to complete the Controlled Assessment.

Year 11 Geography students had a fantastic workshop on Wednesday with Mr Rowbotham.

Attendance Matters

Every single day a student is absent from school equates to a day lost of learning. At Corby Technical School we pride ourselves in maintaining excellent attendance. Our target is to achieve and maintain a whole school attendance of above 96.5%. We will be giving you weekly updates on our whole school attendance, the tutor group and house who achieved the highest attendance this week.

Whole School Attendance

Whole school attendance this week is 94.89%, a slight drop from last week, we are positive that we will achieve 96.5% next week.

Best Tutor Group

Well done Mr Lee and the students in 11C who have the highest attendance this week with 98.86%.

House Winner

C house are the House Winners again this week, congratulations to Cayley and Coleman.

Reminders:

School will be closed on Friday 30th March for Good Friday and Monday 2nd April for Easter Monday. Tuesday 3rd April will be a staff training day and will be closed to students. School will reopen to students on Wednesday 4th April.
