March 12, 2021
Dear Parent/Guardian:
We are happy to confirm that your child/ren will be coming to school for in-person learning starting on Monday, March 22, 2021 and for the remainder of this school year. He/she will also be continuing in the same class, with the same teacher.
Our bell schedule will change, starting on March 22. In-person learning (IP) classes will begin at 8:30 a.m. For the first few weeks of school while we tighten up our procedures, students will not be penalized for arriving late.
We were excited to see that more students than originally expected have opted for in-person learning. We will have all students attend four mornings each week, as originally planned. In classrooms where more than 16 students will attend, we will modify seating arrangements to accommodate all students while still following County guidance of 4-6 foot distancing, which we believe maintains a very safe environment while meeting the needs of our students.
We ask that you review the LVJUSD Spring 2021 Handbook (livermoreschools.org/handbook) so that you and your child/ren are fully prepared for the return to in-person learning. We will be offering an orientation next week (more details to follow) as well as additional reminders for our “First Day of School.”
As a reminder, if you have opted for your child to get daily “grab and go” meals, this will begin on Monday, March 22nd.
On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, students will receive grab and go meals on campus.
On Wednesday, when everyone is in distance learning, students will be able to pick up meal kits that will provide food for Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. These "Wednesday for Weekends" kits can be picked up each Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. on a first-come, first served basis at any of the following school sites: Junction Ave, Marylin Ave, Rancho, Joe Michell, East Ave, Jackson Ave, Arroyo Seco, Christensen, Livermore High School (Cowboy Alley), or Granada High School (student parking lot).
If you have not already opted in for free meals, but would like to, please email your child’s name, grade, and school to childnutrition@lvjusd.org so that we can increase our production of meals.
Please keep an eye out for an email early next week. It will explain, in great detail, drop off and pick up procedures. Here are a few things to keep in mind between now and then:
- School gates will open at 8:25 a.m. Students will not be allowed on campus prior to 8:25 a.m. The first set of students will be invited to exit from their vehicles at 8:25 a.m.
- Parents and visitors will not be allowed on campus. All students arriving to school in a vehicle must be dropped off through the valet line. Parents will remain in their cars.
- We will begin loading cars for pick-up at 11:15 a.m.
- All students will eat lunch at home.
As usual, please let me know if you have any questions.
Warm regards,
Mrs. Marni Angelo
Principal
