Friday Favorites

I want to take the opportunity to express how THANKFUL I am to work with so many fabulous teachers and students and I hope that some of the things I share will benefit you and your classroom. HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU!

Now, on to the favorites ...

I am a fontaholic. I love free stuff. I especially love free fonts! My new favorites are the Janda and KJ fonts (from the Aaaah-mazing Kimberly Geswein). You can download her fonts (and so many others) at Fontspace.

Internet Browsers take you to the same internet, but nowadays they offer lots of other tools and functionality. Google Chrome happens to be my personal favorite for a number of reasons, but here are my top four:

1. The omnibox (ok, I didn't even know it was called that ... it's the address bar at the top of your page) can be used to enter a URL or as a search field. {Read more about the omnibox here.}

2. I can sign in to Chrome from any computer and have my bookmarks, browsing history, saved usernames, etc. (If you use this feature on a public computer, be SURE you've signed out!)

3. Apps & Extensions - these little downloadable nuggets of goodness allow you to instantly access incredible tools (and games) right at your fingertips. Take a look at the Chrome Web Store!

4. Chrome is speedy fast, it updates automatically, and almost every single site I visit displays properly in Chrome (which can't be said about a couple of other browsers I know!)
