The Texas Art Education Association invites you to submit an entry from your school for the Youth Art Month Flag Design contest. It's open to students in Kindergarten through 12th grade, one entry per member of TAEA per school, please. Guidelines and parent permission form are in the YAM Booklet.

The Youth Art Month flag, designed by a student in Kindergarten through 12th grade, is selected each year from entries from across the state. The YAM Flag Design is made into two 3' x 5' flags, one to be honored by TAEA at all association events, and the other to participate in the annual national flag ceremony in March. It is then returned to the student artist. Youth Art Month serves to spotlight art education across the nation, and to advocate for quality art education programs for every child at every level. The 2012 entry shown was designed by Makenna from Katy ISD, who studies with art teacher, Madelene Buzan.

Stop by the YAM booth in the exhibit hall at the TAEA conference in San Antonio to share your ideas for Youth Art Month and see the scrapbooks from 2012. Participate in YAM! We want your district to be a part of the Lone Star State's Youth Art Month celebration, starting with the YAM Flag Design Contest!
