Our first Careers Expo was held on Monday 19 June. Students from Years 9 and 10 visited with their teachers during the afternoon. Students from Years 11 and 12 took the opportunity to visit after 3.30pm. Many students came away with a clearer idea of what their next step should be in order to move a bit closer to achieving their career dream.
Certificate courses offered in Years 11 & 12
North Metropolitan TAFE and South Metropolitan TAFE offer Certificate courses which run over one or two years. Students attend TAFE one or two days a week. Students can apply for these courses online. Applications on the websites are expected to open in early July.

The VETiS programs are extremely competitive, therefore it is recommended that students provide as much evidence as possible to support their application. Students will need:
· School Curriculum & Standards Authority (SCSA) number
· Unique Student Identifier (USI) number

· Parent/guardian mobile phone number

WORK EXPERIENCE - INSTEP
Students in Years 11 and 12 have commenced their second placement in the work place. Many students decide to remain with their host employer from Semester One, to continue to develop their skills and competencies in the work environment. Others have moved to a new work place to widen their experiences and try a new industry area.

NOTRE DAME UNIVERSITY
Fremantle Campus Early Offer Program 2018. The University of Notre Dame Australia introduced the Early Offer Program in 2006 to acknowledge and reward the achievements of outstanding Year 12 students by simplifying their access to courses at our University. One of its benefits to the recipients has been that it has allowed them to face their final WACE examinations with reduced stress and added confidence.
Students who are selected for the Early Offer Program should be able to demonstrate:
· Exceptional personal or leadership qualities and are motivated to study;
· Active members of their church, school and/or community; and
· Predicted ATAR (based on their best 4 eligible ATAR subjects) of:
· 93 or above if they applying to study Bachelor of Physiotherapy or Bachelor of Laws
· 90 or above if they are applying to study any other course
Students must ensure that their school completes the school nomination component of their Early Offer Program application form, and that they submit their application form along with:
· Year 11 school reports and first semester of year 12 school report (compulsory)
· Personal statement of approximately 300 words outlining personal qualities
· Motivation to study their preferred course at Notre Dame (compulsory)
· Australian Citizenship or residency status (such as a certified copy of their Australian passport, Australian Citizenship certificate, Australian Birth Certificate, permanent resident visa or any visa with a copy of it from their passport) (compulsory)
· Other relevant supplementary information (written references, awards or certificates)
Notre Dame encourages year 12 students from all secondary schools to apply for the Early Offer Program.
