Virtual School Day Expectations
- The virtual school day is from 8:30-3:30 Monday through Thursday
- Students should be signed in by 8:30 each day
- Friday is a day to make up missed work
- If a child is going to miss any part of the day please let a teacher or the office know
- We ask that students try their best each and every day
Please contact school and get a note for appointments
Attendance will be taken each day
Daily attendance will be taken between 8:30 - 10:00 AM by the core classroom teacher.
If a child does not appear virtually during this time period they will be marked absent, however, a communication will be sent from the school office (phone call or email) to the parent/guardian to confirm when students will access content and complete learning.
If communication is received from the parent/guardian, the administrative assistant will mark the student present in Infinite Campus on this date.
If no communication is received from the parent/guardian, the student will be marked absent.
Thank you for your cooperation in getting back to learning and supporting your child/children with virtual learning. As we roll into the 3rd week of school next week I want to share the importance of ensuring that students stay connected with us.

Welcome Judy Kafka!
Hello Grant Families! I’d like to introduce myself to you! My name is Judy Kafka and I am taking over Jennifer Gabriel’s position as G2M coordinator! Jennifer is moving on to new challenges in the district. I have been a teacher in the district since the late ‘70’s and in retirement have enjoyed many wonderful opportunities for subbing. One of those was at Grant School a few years back in the DHH program! And now I am so excited to be focusing on afterschool enrichment activities. I look forward to meeting you in some fashion and coordinating some virtual activities as we weather the storm of COVID. When an activity has been set, you will be notified in the Grant Gazette and in SeeSaw. Lastly, if your child has a September birthday, I am busy getting things ready for the Birthday Book Club that Jennifer initiated and will be delivering those to your doorstep within the month! Stay safe and I look forward to working with you and your children.
Blessings in a Backpack
Every Friday the Blessings in a Backpack program will be available at Grant Elementary. Distribution will be done as a drive up on Oak street between 11 AM and 1 PM, every Friday. Parents/Guardians can drive up and receive one Blessings in a Backpack bag per school age child. Numbers may be limited per school building, so it will be based on first come first serve.
Blessings in a Backpack is a program that is offered in the Wausau School District and DC Everest school district, to provide weekend meals for school age children. Any questions about the program at Grant, please contact Ashlee Karpinsky at akarpins@wausauschools.org.
Technology Support
- Technology Support Form - This is the fastest most efficient manner for any student or parent to obtain technology support. A team is constantly reviewing and responding to form submissions. Any student in need of device repair or exchange will be required to complete this form to arrange a contact-free device exchange at MOB. Tech support is also available by calling 715-261-0833.
