MLK Weekend of Service
Of the responses shared from the reported acts of service we had the highest percentage of reported service from Mrs. Stagliano's 1st grade class closely followed by Mr. Willey's 3rd grade class.
Thank you to all our students who participated in service and please continue to share how you are involved and encourage others to participate.
We had a visit from Dr. Meloche!
We thank Dr. Meloche for visiting and all he does for our community!
COVID Reminders and School Practices
WE are following safe practices to remain in school. Your support of this practice is appreciated as we continue to implement mitigation practices to reduce the spread of Covid within our school community. Please note the following:
If you plan to travel, please reference the district's quarantine procedures aligned with out-of-state travel HERE. Students not fully vaccinated must quarantine as noted.
Please note that individuals are considered fully vaccinated:
• 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or
• 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as the Johnson & Johnson/Janssen vaccine
If schools are unable to determine the vaccination status of individual students or staff, those individuals should be considered not fully vaccinated.
- WE continue to screen daily using the at home screening tool located here: https://www.chclc.org/cms/lib/NJ50000493/Centricity/Domain/1095/COVID-19%20Screening%20Checklist%203%20sections%20Updated%2010.15.21.pdf
- If your child has been a close contact, please note they follow the Section 2 area of the checklist.
- WE continue to practice social distancing whenever possible, wearing masks appropriately covering the nose and mouth, and sanitizing hands frequently.
- If your child is sick, please keep them home.
- If your child is waiting for Covid test results, they are not permitted to attend school. The district recently updated the Continuity of Learning Plan which allows for remote instruction while awaiting test results.
As the weather gets cold we are still going outside when possible to provide mask breaks, fresh air, and activity for our students. Please have your child dressed accordingly. Layers are recommended.
Masks often get wet or lost during the day. Please send in a second or third mask for your child to keep on them or in their backpack if at all possible.
National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP)
A group of our 4th-graders will represent thousands of others across the country on January 25th! Known as The Nation’s Report Card, NAEP is the largest nationally representative and continuing assessment of what students in the United States know and can do in a variety of subjects. Learn more at https://nces.ed.gov/nationsreportcard/about/
A letter will be sent home to parents with more information on January 10, 2022.
