Pack the Pantry

Ms. Stacey, our Care Coordinator, maintains a pantry to provide basic necessities for students. We are in need of non-perishable foods, personal hygiene products, backpacks, and other school supplies. See the Wish List! Students can drop off donations at the main office during school hours. Ms. Stacey also will be accepting donations at the WSHS historical entrance after school on Tuesday, September 26.

Curriculum Night
Thursday, October 12, 6:30-8pm
This is a chance for parents and guardians to go through your student’s class schedule. During each period, teachers will introduce their course and share classroom expectations.

First Tuesdays at Larry’s Tavern
Every first Tuesday of the month is an opportunity to socialize while benefitting WSHS students, as Larry’s Tavern donates partial proceeds to the WSHS PTSA. Board members will be available 6–8pm to greet you. All are welcome! You do not have to be a PTSA member to participate.

Tickets are now on sale for The Tailgate Auction! Help the WSHS PTSA raise funds to restore a robust tutoring program, including after-school and weekend tutoring. Get your tickets to the Tailgate Auction today. We are also accepting donations of items for the auction.
Join the PTSA Board
Please consider adding your talents and voice to our Board. We are currently looking to fill the following important positions:
- Secretary: Are you detail-oriented and efficient? Attend and keep minutes at all membership and board meetings. This is an easy way to get involved with PTSA leadership.
- Legislative Chair: Are you passionate about organizing and advocating for kids? Inform and empower members about local issues impacting our students, staff, and community.
- Racial Equity Team Representative: Are you committed to racial equity and social justice? Support the work of the staff's Racial Equity Team.
Student Life
ASB Activity Cards
2023-2024 Activity Cards are now on sale via SchoolPay. Activity cards provide discounts on dance tickets, football tickets, and school store purchases, as well as free entry to home games and certain ASB-sponsored events. Student athletes are required to purchase an activity card before participating in any sport.
Student Club Fair

Each school club will get table space in the gym during lunchtime to promote the club and recruit new members.
National Honor Society Applications
Due Friday, September 29, 4pm
West Seattle High School's Chapter of National Honor Society is open for applications! NHS is nationwide organization of high school students dedicated to scholarship, service, leadership and character. Members take part in volunteer events throughout the school and community. Sophomores, juniors and seniors with 3.5 GPAs are invited to apply! Reminder to upperclassmen: members need to reapply every year. Apply here.
Seattle Students Consent Collective
Consent Collective is a student-led sexual violence awareness and prevention campaign in Seattle Public Schools. They tackle District-wide projects, such as revising and drafting District policy to prevent sexual violence and offer support to survivors and conducting and social media campaigns. Virtual meetings are every other week after school. Join here.

WSHS will administer the school-day SAT to all 12th grade students, including Running Start students. Please read the document below for details, instructions, and test prep recommendations.

POCIS Equity and Inclusion Virtual Speaker Series
The Equity and Inclusion Virtual Speaker Series is a program sponsored by POCIS Seattle, People of Color of Independent Schools in the Northwest, to offer our communities the opportunity to connect, learn, and engage in topics around equity, inclusion, and antiracist education and action. The Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) has international students who are waiting to be connected to a host family from January to June 2024.
