Jaguar Tracks
September 2nd
Dear JE community,
When I went home on Thursday, I took a moment to reflect on how lucky we are to have 100% returning classroom teachers and 100% returning paraeducators. Many of our paras have looped with their children, allowing for consistency and continued relationship building. Our staff come back each year because of their passion for education and because our Jaguars are so incredible! They are kind, fun, energetic, inquisitive and leaders.
We look forward to welcoming you all back inside our building for Back to School Night--which is on September 14th: K-2 will be held from 5:30-6:15 and 3-5 will be held between 6:15-7:30. Our specialists (Library, PE, Music and Art) will be in their rooms between 6:00 and 6:45. This event is geared towards our adults. You will learn about our student's day, the curriculum and meet their teachers. In the Spring, at our Open House, our students will welcome you to their classrooms and show you all of their wonderful work.
Here's to a wonderful week ahead! Stay tuned for our next Tracks, which will be released on 9/9.
Additionally, please find us on Facebook at Joshua Eaton Elementary School and stay tuned for a new district-wide website!
Enjoy your long weekend!
Caitlin

Volunteer. The PTO could use YOUR support this year! The success of PTO organized events depends on the JE community’s generous donations of time and talent. Every PTO activity is driven by volunteers, both visible and behind the scenes. We appreciate any support you can provide, from a few hours to a leadership role. Plus, it’s a great way to get involved with your child’s school, meet new people and have fun!
Please fill out the Volunteer SOS form (Support Our School) by 9/23 to let us know where you can help. The form has gone paperless this year so please use this link for each adult/caregiver who can help: https://forms.gle/j3ycHqUgBm2dpAnb7
*Special thanks to Jen Turner and Monica Acker for coordinating our volunteer force this year!*

Reading Public Schools is a METCO District
"Since its founding during the peak of the Civil Rights Movement, the METCO program has enrolled tens of thousands of Boston students of color in predominately white school districts, creating the opportunity for those districts to experience the advantages of learning and working in a racially and ethnically diverse setting."
Found Family Program
Please take a look at the attached document detailing our “Found Family” Program. With the collaboration of 8th grade students from Parker Middle School and all Elementary PTO’s we produced the name “Found Family,” and this document for our district Found Family program. What does Found Family mean? “A group of people who find themselves united in a family-bond based on shared experiences, mutual understanding, and interpersonal connection. Found Family is not biological but found when placed in a new place.”
