Week 36
This week, we will be taking our last field trip to Granbury Skating Rink. Your student will need to bring a sack lunch. The cost is $6.00. On Friday, Seguin will host the Annual Field Day Celebration. We will be creating 'Superhero' themed t-shirts this week. The cost is $4.00. Your student may bring extra money for both events, but it is their responsibility to keep up with the money.
The events next week will include: Awards Assembly, End-of-the-Year Celebration, and Early Release. Please look for information at the end of the week.
If you have any questions, please email me or contact me by phone.
Texas History
We will explore and investigation regions of Texas, including their economic development in the 21st century. We will also create our own region of Texas, including agriculture, economic development, and population.
Science
We will explore, illustrate, and compare life cycles in living organisms, such as butterflies, beetles, radishes, or lima beans. Students will create a presentation providing the life cycles of living organisms.
Math
We will continue to refine our areas of improvement on developing fluency with efficient use of the four arithmetic operations on whole numbers and using this knowledge to solve problems, understanding decimals and addition and subtraction of decimals, and building foundations for addition and subtraction of fractions.
Reading
We will make inferences about text and use textual evidence to support understanding. We will also make connections between literary and informational text with similar ideas and provide evidence.
Writing
This week in writing, we will look at author's use of sentence structure and variance. We will model our sentences after the authors we are reading.
Word Work
We will be focusing on creative writing and our use of complete sentences and descriptive word choice.
