Wow! Here comes the 2022 school year and we are off to a great start! Our hope is that your child felt a strong sense of connection in their class. Building positive relationships with our students and families is a top priority for the DeLeon staff. We had so much fun getting to know your children over the past few weeks and look forward to a wonderful September!
We had our first fire drill of the year and it went well. The staff members did an excellent job preparing our students and our Dragons were quick to exit the building while being back in class within 10 minutes.
If you are new to VISD, it is important to let you know that we love to show our pride. Each Friday will be spirit day at DeLeon Elementary. We encourage all students and staff to wear a DeLeon Elementary or VISD shirt. If you are in need of purchasing spirit wear, our DeLeon PTO has some great options to choose from.
Thank you for being a part of the Martin DeLeon Elementary School family and we look forward to great accomplishments over the 2022/2023 school year.
Jennifer McIntyre, Principal

The LIBRARIAN
Welcome to the DeLeon Library where we are WILD About READING!
I am so excited to work with your child/children during this school year. We have a lot of fun things planned throughout the year including the Fall and Spring book fairs, the “For the Love of Books” Bookmark Contest, Story Time, learning about famous authors, and much more.
I also want to say Thank You to all of those who helped support the DeLeon Library last year through purchasing books from the book fairs, PTO, and family of staff and students who volunteered to help at the book fairs, as well as those who would help shelve books whenever it was needed. I couldn’t do this without all of you. I look forward to working with many of you again this year!
Sincerely,
Lana Snow
